Trains have been stopped on a railway line in Greater Manchester after a person was tragically found dead at a station.
Services have been stopped between Bolton and Preston this morning (April 29), with trains being cancelled and delayed.
British Transport Police says it was called out to Adlington station, between Bolton and Chorley, at 9.10am.
A person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
National Rail says emergency services are currently working at the scene.
The issue is affecting Northern services between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North, Barrow-in-Furness and Windermere, via Bolton and Manchester city centre.
It also affects TransPennine Express services between Manchester Airport and Scotland, via Manchester city centre.
A National Rail spokesperson said: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Bolton and Preston.
"Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
"Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised."
Services are now running with delays.

National Rail says lines have reopened, but major disruption is expected until 1.15pm.
"Trains running between these stations may continue to be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes revised or diverted," a spokesperson said.
Rail replacement buses will leave Bolton and Preston at 11.30am in either direction.
Earlier buses were in use at 10.30am.

British Transport Police says a person has been sadly found dead at Adlington station this morning.
Officers were called out to the scene at 9.10am.
A force spokesperson added:
"Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the corner."
