Art Healing Workshop
Art is known to be a powerful tool for self-exploration, self-expression, and stress management. This workshop will introduce participants to a variety of art techniques and mediums.
Participants will explore different materials and process their emotions in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Groups are facilitated by trained support specialists and follow a trauma-informed approach.
Self-exploration
Art and crafting can be an excellent way to explore yourself. It can help you find your inner creativity and learn new things about yourself that you may have otherwise missed. This is especially true when you work with an experienced art therapist.
The Healing Through Arts program teaches students to build knowledge, skills, and sensitivity in a range of artistic mediums and activities. It also focuses on developing observational and analytical skills. It aims to support the holistic perspective of healing, which includes physical, emotional, social and spiritual elements.
Participants use painting, drawing, modeling and collage to describe their emotions and rough situations without using words. The process helps them discover additional ways to cope with pain and isolation that support healing. They also develop interpersonal skills and gain confidence through the creative process. The group is led by an experienced art therapist and follows a trauma-informed approach. Interested students should inquire about participation in this program.
Self-expression
Art can be a powerful way to express yourself and explore your emotions. It can also help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your personal journey. It can help you cope with difficult situations and heal from past experiences. It can also be a tool for self-care and a way to express yourself in a safe space.
The arts offer a way to express oneself that is non-judgmental and provides an outlet for feelings of anxiety, anger, depression, or grief. Studies have shown that creating art increases mindfulness and builds resiliency. Moreover, the act of creating art releases dopamine in the brain and is a great stress reliever.
Using the power of visual art, this workshop will teach you how to create your own healing journey. The curriculum will include hands-on workshops involving body movement, creativity and guided meditation/visualization. The workshops will be led by a trained Art Therapist and will be customized to the needs of the participants.
Self-awareness
The process of creating art is self-reflective and enables you to examine the messages and emotions conveyed in your creations. You can use this information to understand yourself better and make positive life changes.
The course also explores therapeutic interventions that use art to help clients discover their emotions and feelings. For example, one art therapy exercise involves making expressive collages using cut-outs, photos, felt pens, and paints. This method can help patients develop their sense of self-acceptance and increase their ability to cope with stress.
The workshop is led by a certified art therapist. It is a safe space for female-identified individuals and follows a trauma-informed approach. This allows participants to feel comfortable and open to sharing their experiences in a supportive environment. This is an important step in the healing process. The art therapist will provide guidance and support throughout the session. They will also provide helpful tools to continue healing at home.
Stress management
Stress is one of the biggest health issues in the world, and it can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, and even a weak immune system. In addition, it can also cause psychosomatic symptoms such as heart problems or breathlessness. Fortunately, there are many ways to help you manage your stress levels. One way is through art making.
In this workshop, you will explore the impact of stress in your life from a creative perspective. Through guided imagery and writing, participants will learn about the ‘9 Pillars of Wellness’ that they can build to support themselves in times of crisis.
The program will provide a safe and supportive group environment in which you can express yourself creatively. You will be encouraged to experiment with different mediums and techniques, such as painting, collage, or molding clay. You will also learn about the healing potential of these activities and how to incorporate them into your daily practice. These skills can be applied to other areas of your life, such as work and relationships.
